Stewart Lyman, Biotechnology Consultant and Vaccine Advocate
The human papilloma virus (HPV) causes six different types of cancer, affecting both men and women in growing numbers (now over 35,000 in the US. alone) each year, In 2016 Stewart was diagnosed with one of these cancers. He only underwent surgery to resolve it, unlike the many who suffer painful chemo and radiation treatments for similar cancers. For this reason he is now an advocate for a simple, easy, new vaccine treatment.
Stewart has a PhD in cancer research, was a post-doctoral fellow at the Fred Hutch, and worked at Immunex cloning new molecules that would stimulate the immune system to fight cancer. He holds 28 U.S. patents, and two of the drugs his team developed are currently in clinical trials for cancer and asthma.
