Claire has been the executive director of the Wallingford Community Senior Center since last October. Previously, she was the director of Eastside Friends of Seniors, and has worked her entire career in and around nonprofit organizations, in management, and finance of nonprofit capital facilities and low-income housing. When she’s not at the senior center, she’s on her bike, volunteering with Cascade Bicycle Club, or hiking in the mountains.
It’s from Claire’s experience working with seniors that she became passionate about the issue of elder abuse. Too often, older adults are forgotten and alone, and hurt or taken advantage of. She believes that by growing awareness of elder abuse, we can begin combatting this problem; we can show that we care about people of all ages, and not just youth and children, who are able to command the greatest philanthropic resources.
Joining Claire is Katrina Durkin (http://www.bhdlaw.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Katrina_-e1430348862415.jpg).
